Babies love the sound of their mother’s voice. It is soothing and comforting and is their favorite sound. Why not use the voice your baby loves to play games that involve tracking movement from left to right? As your baby grows, this awareness to details will help your baby focus on pictures, letters and words in books.

Step 1: Place your baby on his back.
Step 2: Move your face to your baby’s left side about 8 to 12 inches away, and then move your face to his right side as you talk or sing.
Step 3: Watch your baby move his eyes to follow the sound. As your baby’s neck muscles strengthen, he will begin to turn his head to the sound of your voice.
