At this stage, your baby is hearing and learning many words. Language can be presented to babies through talking or through singing. Many musicians have created music for children that features the beats, tones and words that really grab their attention. Those songs have new words that are presented in a fun, musical way. Some babies love to hear the same songs over and over again. They may even try to sing along! Babies can become familiar with new vocabulary while listening to their favorite tunes.

Step 1: Visit the library, a store or a website with music.
Step 2: Check out the children’s selections. If available, play a sample. Check out or purchase songs that would appeal to your baby.
Step 3: Play the song. Once you know the words, you can sing along!
