Get to Know Me
Dr. Julia Powell is a board-certified Ob-Gyn who has been in private practice since 2005. She graduated from Elizabethtown College with a B.S. in Biology and then attended medical school at MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine. She completed her four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Abington Hospital. Dr. Powell currently resides in southeast Pennsylvania and is in the middle of raising two teenagers and two cats. She chose Ob-Gyn because of the continuity of care across all life stages, as well as the opportunity to care for groups of women (families, friend groups). Dr. Powell has always been an advocate for women's health, and this field allows her to be at the forefront of this mission on a daily, direct basis. When she isn't caring for patients or running kids to practices and activities, Dr. Powell loves to cook and bake.
What I'm Passionate About
Women's health needs to begin in the adolescent years and continue beyond their menopausal journey. I love seeing women across the entire reproductive lifespan and beyond — from the first gyn visit to helping them navigate postmenopausal health. But I do have a special place in my heart for obstetrics — it is a joy and a privilege to be a part of such a milestone life event.
