6 to 11 Months Poetry/Songs

Stomp your feet! Clap your hands! Everybody ready for a barnyard dance! And dance is just what every parent and child will want to do after exploring this book. The book's language is rich with engaging rhythm and catchy rhyme. There is just enough text on each page to keep very young children from getting bored while still having enough to move the story along.

Before, During and After Reading

Oral Language

Point to and describe the pictures on the book cover. Your child may recognize some of these farm animals, but he will be seeing these animals in a new and fun way as you continue to read.

Phonological Awareness

As you read the rhymes and dance moves, act them out! Your baby will be exposed to rhyming words just by listening to you read.

Oral Language

Time to dance with your baby! Recall some of the dance moves from the book, such as “twirl,” “bow,” and “slide.” Act out and say the dance moves with your little one and watch his face glow with smiles and laughter.
